These earrings were made from two very special hand-fabricated antique components. They date to the early 20th century Edwardian period, and are crafted in platinum with rose and old mine cut diamonds. I sourced them from a broken antique pearl necklace and decided to turn them into earrings. I made a pair of diamond studs for them to hang from in 18K yellow gold with platinum bezels (diamonds are both antique old European cuts, 0.38 and 0.32 carats respectively), and attached two long tassels of untreated Burmese spinels.
The diamonds total approximately 2.35 carats, including the two studs. They measure 6.9 cm long.
