This late Renaissance ring is similar to many examples C. 1680s made in northern Europe. It had been converted from a ring to a brooch in the 19th century, and has been converted back to a ring with a new 18K gold shank. It is modeled in sterling silver and 14K gold, with a "pie crust" style setting typical of the time period, with table and rose cut diamonds, and a likely Persian turquoise cabochon. It has traces of the original black enamel on the underside of the ring. It has age-related wear on the interior, where the gold has worn down, as pictured. It weighs 6.4 grams, and the ring head measures 18 x 16 mm. It fits like a size 6.25, but this is a little inexact as the inside of the ring isn't a perfect circle.
